How to Use Full-Screen Search in COVA

This article will outline how to open full-screen mode and search for events using IdentiSee, Thumbnail View, and By Event.

 

Supported/Affected Devices:

  • DW-COVA4 / DW-COVA8 / DW-COVA16

 

Resolution:

Note: IVA cameras do not support thumbnail previews in full-screen mode. A “Snapshot not supported” icon will appear in place of the thumbnail.

 

Part 1 — Open Full-Screen Mode

  1. Navigate to the COVA Home page.

  1. Click the >> (panel expand) button on the left edge of the screen. The full-screen search view will open with three tabs across the top: Camera Channels, History, and IdentiSee.

Part 2 — Search Using IdentiSee

  1. Click the IdentiSee tab.

  1. Use the filter row to select a camera, time frame, and detection type. Click Search. Results display as a large thumbnail grid with camera name, timestamp, and detection label on each.

  1. Click any thumbnail to start playback.

Part 3 — Search Using History (Thumbnail View)

  1. Click the History tab, then click Thumbnail View.

  1. Select a camera and date, then click Search.

  1. Results display as an hourly grid. Click any thumbnail to drill down or start playback.

Part 4 — Search Using History (By Event)

  1. Click the History tab, then click By Event.

  1. Select a camera, date, and event type, then click Search.

  1. Click any thumbnail to start playback.

Part 5 — Close Full-Screen Mode

  1. Click the X button on the left edge of the screen to return to the standard COVA Home view.
