How to Set Up a Recording Schedule in COVA

This article will outline how to select a recording type, draw a schedule on the timetable, set post-event recording time, and apply settings across all cameras.

Supported/Affected Devices:

  • DW-COVA4 / DW-COVA8 / DW-COVA16

Resolution:

Tip: It is recommended to configure motion detection on all cameras before setting up your recording schedule.

 

Part 1 — Open Recording Schedule Settings

  1. Navigate to Settings → Camera → Schedule.

  1. Select a camera from the Camera Channel drop-down.

Part 2 — Select a Recording Type

  1. Select one of the following recording types from the legend:
    • Continuous — records at all times
    • Event — records only when an event is detected (motion, human, vehicle, or sensor)
    • Event + Continuous — records continuously but flags event segments
    • Do Not Record — no recording for the selected time block

Part 3 — Draw the Schedule on the Timetable

  1. Click and drag across the timetable grid to apply the selected recording type to that time block.

  1. Repeat for each day and time block as needed.

Part 4 — Set Post-Event Recording Time

  1. Enable Post-event recording time and select a duration from the drop-down (5 seconds to 10 minutes).

Part 5 — Apply to All Channels (Optional)

  1. Check Copy to all channels to apply the same schedule to every camera.

Part 6 — Save Settings

Tip: Click Reset Settings at any time to revert unsaved changes back to the last saved state.

  1. Click Save.

  1. Verify the success confirmation message and click OK.
