How to Configure IdentiSee Detection Zones in COVA
This article will outline how to open IdentiSee settings, select detection targets, draw detection zones, and save your configuration.
Supported/Affected Devices:
- DW-COVA4 / DW-COVA8 / DW-COVA16
Resolution:
Tip: IdentiSee is supported on the following cameras:
- DW AI (X-Class) cameras
- IVA cameras — analytics supported; thumbnails not supported ("Snapshot not supported" will appear)
- V-Class IP cameras — firmware v5.1.4.0 build 62531 or later
- Mx95 series — firmware v5.1.4.1 build 66862 or later (required for Bike/Motorbike detection)
Minimum plug-in version requirements for X-Class and IVA cameras:
- DW MEGApix Ai Camera Plug-in: 1.1.147
- IVA Camera Plug-in: 1.0.147
Cameras below the minimum plug-in version are not supported and will appear offline during registration.
Part 1 — Open IdentiSee Settings
- Navigate to Settings → IdentiSee.
- Select a camera from the Camera Channels drop-down.
- Click Enable to activate IdentiSee for the selected camera.
Part 2 — Select Detection Targets
- Check the detection targets to enable:
- Human
- Vehicle
- Bike
- Face — camera-dependent; may appear grayed out if not supported
- Motion — on/off only
Note: Motion settings are separate from IdentiSee and can only be turned on or off here. Turning Motion on enables all four detection areas. For detailed motion area configuration, go to Camera → Setup on the camera’s web page.
Part 3 — Select an Area and Draw a Detection Zone
- Click an Area button (1, 2, 3, or 4) to select which zone to configure.
- Click within the camera preview to place points and draw the detection zone boundary.
Note: Starting a new drawing will delete the existing area for that zone. Up to 4 detection zones can be configured per camera.
Part 4 — Clear a Zone (Optional)
- Click Clear to remove the current area’s detection zone.
- Click Clear All to remove all detection zones for the selected camera.
Part 5 — Save Settings
- Click Apply to save the detection zone settings.
