Configure IVA classification labels on your network cameras and set up IdentiSee detection zones to enable person and vehicle event detection on your COVA recorder.

Note: This article applies to COVA recorders only. Camera credentials (separate from myDW credentials) are required to complete the classification setup in Part 2.
Note: Thumbnails are not supported on the Home > IdentiSee tab. A "Snapshot not supported" image will be displayed, but clicking it will still launch playback from the recorded event.
Part 1: Access the COVA Recorder Web Interface
- Click the Recorders icon in the left sidebar.
- Locate your COVA recorder in the list and click Web to open the recorder's web interface via the myDW P2P cloud connection.
- Click Settings.
- Click Camera.
- If needed, scroll right to make the Advance column visible.
- Click the Web button in the Advance column for the camera you want to configure.
Note: A separate browser tab will open for the camera's own configuration interface. Log in with the camera's admin credentials to continue.
Part 2: Configure IVA Classification Rules
- Click Setup.
- Expand the IVA menu section.
- Click Classification.
- Click Person, then click Modify.
- Update the classification name to exactly 'person', then click Save.
Important: The classification name must be entered as person (lowercase) for IdentiSee event detection to function correctly.
- Click Vehicle, then click Modify.
- Update the classification name to exactly 'car', then click Save.
Important: The classification name must be entered as car (lowercase) for IdentiSee event detection to function correctly.
Part 3: Configure IdentiSee Detection in the COVA Web Interface
- Return to the COVA web interface tab and click Settings.
- Select IdentiSee from the settings menu.
- Under Detection Target, select Human, Vehicle, or both depending on your monitoring needs.
- Draw up to 4 detection areas on the camera view. Click to place up to 6 points per area, connecting them to close the shape.
Part 4: Search IdentiSee Events
- Click Home.
- Click IdentiSee.
- Use the filters to select a camera, time range, and detection type, then click Search.
- Click an event to begin playback in the camera channel.
Note: "Snapshot not supported" thumbnails are expected. Clicking the thumbnail will still launch playback from the recorded event.
