Registering COVA to myDW
When initially setting up a COVA recorder, users have the option to connect their recorder to the myDW Health Monitoring Service. There may be circumstances when a user who is installing a new COVA recorder does not know the necessary myDW Organization information, including the Organization ID.
In most cases, the user can simply ask the Channel Partner Administrator or the End User Administrator for the Organization information. However, if this information cannot be obtained in this way, here are some workarounds that can be considered:
- Create a New End User Organization
- Sign Up with a Free Trial
This article will outline two different methods of registering a COVA recorder to an existing myDW Organization when the installing user does not have access to the necessary End User Organization details.
**NOTE: If the intended Channel Partner or End User Administrator is without a myDW account, they can to sign up to become a Managed Service Provider by submitting an application form – DW Spectrum Enterprise Onboarding.
Supported/Affected Devices:
- COVA Recorder Series
Alternative myDW Registration Methods
Option 1 – Create a New myDW End User Organization
In circumstances when an installing user does not know the Organization ID or does not have an active myDW account to complete the COVA registration process, the Channel Partner Organization Administrator can create a new End User Organization and send an email invitation to join by performing the following steps.
**NOTE: Be aware that the first user who is added to a Sub-Channel Organization or End User Organization will become that End User Organization’s Administrator. If you are trying to simply add a user to an existing Organization, regardless of if it is at the Channel Partner or End User Organization level, you can do so in the Users tab in the myDW Web Portal.
To invite a new user to a new myDW Organization:
-
As the Administrator of an existing myDW Channel Partner Organization, create a new End User Organization. Enter new user’s email address to send an invitation email.
If needed, users can also be added to the Organization from the Users tab in myDW later.
-
Upon accepting the email invitation to the new End User Organization, the new user will be prompted to sign up or log in.
Click “Create Account” and submit the signup form to make a new myDW account.
If the new user has a DW Cloud account and would like to use the same email for their myDW login, click “Login with DW Cloud”.
- Once the new user has created their account and logged into the End User Organization, the Organization ID and myDW account login can be obtained and used to register the COVA recorder.
Option 2 – Use a Free myDW Trial Account
An alternative for quickly acquiring an Organization ID is by creating a one-time, free trial account in myDW. This is a temporary option that can be utilized if a Channel Partner or End User Administrator cannot be reached to provide an Organization ID until a transfer of ownership can occur.
To create a free trial account:
- Using a web browser, visit the myDW Web Portal and click the “Free Trial” link.
- Complete and submit the Free Trial registration form. As this account will be the first added to a new Organization, it will be identified as Organization Administrator.
- A confirmation email will be sent to the email address that is provided. Use the link to verify and authenticate the trial account.
- After verification, log into myDW and click on your profile on the main dashboard. The Organization ID will display.
- Complete the COVA registration process using the free trial account information and Organization ID.
- Once you can get into contact with your intended Channel Partner, let them know that you are using a free trial account. Provide the Organization ID of the trial Organization and request an “Organization Transfer”. The Channel Partner can then contact their DW Inside Sales contact or Regional Sales Manager to assist with an administrative transfer.
