Release Overview
myDW version 2.0.82-3 introduces new features and improvements focused on remote device management, access control, platform transparency, and partner workflows. This release expands administrator capabilities for managing COVA device firmware, strengthens organization and camera-level permissions, and improves how Channel Partners collaborate with End User organizations.
Key updates include remote COVA firmware upgrade scheduling, a hierarchical organization tree with Login As access delegation, camera-level permissions for User Groups, in-app release notes, an improved Installation Report workflow for Channel Partners, and a redesigned Login To organization-switching menu.
Highlighted Changes
COVA Firmware Upgrade
Administrators can now remotely manage COVA device firmware directly from the Recorder List or the new Maintenance Page, eliminating the need for on-site visits.
The system supports both manual and scheduled firmware upgrades, giving administrators flexibility in how and when updates are applied across managed deployments.
Key details:
- Manual or scheduled upgrade options
- Available from Recorder List or new Maintenance Page
- Requires COVA Firmware 1.4.8.87927+
- Cloud-managed deployment support
Organization Tree & Login As
The Organization List now displays in a hierarchical tree structure for clearer visibility of parent and sub-organizations. Administrators can also request temporary ‘Login As’ access to End User organizations to perform support and troubleshooting tasks without requiring separate credentials.
Key details:
- Tree view replaces flat organization list
- ‘Login As’ access for organizations
- Temporary access request workflow
- Improved multi-org navigation
Camera Permissions for User Groups
User Groups can now be configured with camera-level access permissions in addition to recorder-level access, giving administrators finer control over what each group can view. This applies to COVA and VMAX recorder types.
Key details:
- Camera-level access layered onto recorder access (COVA & VMAX only)
- Set permissions at User Group creation
- Requires COVA Firmware 1.4.8.87800+
- Enhances security and role-based access control
Passkey Login Support
Users can now add a passkey to their myDW account for faster, more secure login - without entering a password or 2FA code. Passkeys use device-based biometric or PIN authentication, providing a streamlined and phishing-resistant login experience.
Key details:
- Add a passkey from the myDW home page or Profile Settings
- Supports device-based biometric or PIN authentication
- Up to 3 passkeys can be registered per user account
- Eliminates the need to enter a password or 2FA code at login
In-App Release Notes
Users can now browse release notes without leaving myDW. Content is authored and published by DW Admin, ensuring users always have access to the latest feature documentation directly inside the application.
Key details:
- Release Notes panel accessible within the app
- Content managed and published by DW Admin
- Reduces support inquiries on new features
- Available to all user roles
Platform Improvements
Installation Report (CP → EU)
The Installation Report workflow has been improved so that Channel Partners can now create and complete reports within the CP portal and publish them directly to the associated End User organization. Previously, report creation was handled on the EU side; this update moves that process to the Channel Partner, streamlining post-installation documentation handoff.
Key details:
- Report creation moved to Channel Partner portal
- CP completes and publishes the report to the End User org
- Cleaner handoff workflow replacing EU-side creation
- Reduces back-and-forth in post-installation documentation
Login To Menu
The ‘Switching Organization’ menu has been redesigned and renamed ‘Login To,’ providing a cleaner organization list with an expandable ‘View All’ option for users managing eight or more organizations. This reduces friction for multi-org administrators during day-to-day navigation.
Key details:
- Renamed and redesigned as ‘Login To’ menu
- ‘View All’ expansion for 8+ organizations
- Cleaner, faster org-switching UX
