New Version Notes
Release Overview
myDW version 2.0.81 introduces improvements focused on platform transparency, Site management, and partner onboarding. This release enhances how administrators view and manage recorders, improves subscription visibility, strengthens system recovery capabilities, and simplifies onboarding for Digital Watchdog Channel Partners.
Key updates include automated configuration backups for COVA recorders, a co-term subscription calculator, improved recorder and organization visibility, and a new automated Channel Partner registration flow. Additionally, enhancements to the DWAIN chatbot and Spectrum role permissions improve usability and alignment with the latest DW Spectrum updates.
Highlighted Changes
Automatic COVA Configuration Backups
Administrators can now automatically back up COVA recorder configuration files to myDW.
The system performs a daily configuration backup at 1:00 AM (local time) and automatically re-tries at 4:00 AM if the initial attempt fails. The most recent successful configuration backup can be downloaded directly from the Inventory Report screen, allowing administrators to quickly restore system settings in the event of hardware replacement or system recovery.
This improvement strengthens system resilience and simplifies recovery workflows for managed deployments.
Subscription Co-Term Calculator
A new Co-Term Calculator has been added to the Subscription page to provide visibility into how Co-Term subscription expiration dates are calculated based on:
- Registered channel counts
- Adding or reducing channels
- License expiration dates
- Purchasing and activating a new subscription license
This feature will help Administrators to understand subscription alignment and simplifies licensing discussions during Organization expansion or renewal planning.
Improved Recorder Visibility
Administrators can easily identify and manage systems with new date-based sorting capabilities.
New columns include:
- Created Date for Organization lists (CP view)
- Registered Date for Recorder lists (EU view)
These columns allow users to sort Organizations and recorders chronologically, making it easier to locate recently added systems and manage large deployments.
Channel Partner Self-Registration
Digital Watchdog Channel Partners can now join the myDW Partner Network through a streamlined sign-up process directly from the myDW login page. This update simplifies onboarding and accelerates access to myDW for new partners.
The new workflow includes:
- A dedicated “Join the myDW Partner Network” entry point
- Automatic validation of reseller email addresses against the Digital Watchdog Salesforce Channel Partner database
- Automatic creation of a Channel Partner Organization using the company name and CP number when a match is found
If the email address is not found in the Channel Partner database, the system will guide the user through submitting their information for manual review by a Digital Watchdog Inside Sales representative.
Platform Improvements
Enhanced Merged System Recorder Navigation
Recorder trees within Alert History and Health Reports now use a unified tree structure for merged DW Spectrum systems. This creates consistent navigation experience when reviewing alerts or system health reports.
Improvements include:
- Consistent recorder labeling
- Improved appearance and visual organization
- Alignment with the recorder structure used in the main Recorder List
DWAiN Chatbot Context Awareness
The DWAiN support chatbot now receives account-level context information from myDW, enabling it to tailor responses to the user’s account level. This improvement allows DWAiN to provide more relevant guidance and troubleshooting recommendations based on the user’s role within the myDW ecosystem.
DW Spectrum Permission Role Assignment
User permission roles for DW Spectrum Pro version 6.1 have been updated to align with the latest terminology and permission behavior introduced in the platform. These updates ensure consistent permission management between myDW and the latest DW Spectrum releases.
Key changes include:
- Updated role naming conventions
- Simplified permission structures
- Removal of custom role creation for Spectrum Sites
Existing custom permission roles are automatically migrated to the Advanced Viewer role where applicable.
Organization Context in Channel Partner Alerts
Channel Partners now receive improved visibility to End User Organizations when viewing alerts. This contextual breadcrumb information helps Channel Partners quickly identify which customer organization is associated with a recorder alert.
When reviewing alerts in the CP Dashboard, the myDW system will now display the associated:
- End User Organization ID
- End User Organization Name
