The DW® Spot™ Monitoring Module (DW-HDSPOTMOD) allows users to view live video streams from supported devices, including cameras connected through a VMAX® A1 DVR.

In some cases, cameras must be manually added to the HD Spot Module using RTSP streams from the VMAX A1. This ensures stable streaming performance and proper device compatibility.

 

Supported/Affected Devices

  • HD Spot Mod Series
  • VMAX A1 Series (2.1 MP)

NOTE:

  • The HD Spot Module supports H.264 video format only
  • Cameras must be added using RTSP streams when not automatically detected
  • The VMAX A1 may require configuration adjustments depending on the network setup
  • Excessive streaming connections may impact recorder performance

Network Requirements:  Please verify that the VMAX A1  and the HD Spot Module are on the same subnet.

 

Step 1: Access the VMAX A1 Web Interface

  1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer recommended)
  2. Enter the IP address and web port of the VMAX A1
    • Example: http://192.168.100.52:80
  3. Log in using administrator credentials
  4. Navigate to:
    Setup → Network → Network Settings
  5. Record the following:
    • IP Address
    • RTSP Port (default: 554)

 

Step 2: Construct RTSP Stream URLs

Use the following format:

  • Main Stream:
    rtsp://<IP Address>:<Port>/main/ch<channel>
  • Sub Stream:
    rtsp://<IP Address>:<Port>/sub/ch<channel>

Example:

  • IP: 192.168.100.52
  • Port: 554
  • Channel: 1
  • Main Stream:
    rtsp://192.168.100.52:554/main/ch1
  • Sub Stream:
    rtsp://192.168.100.52:554/sub/ch1

 

Step 3: Add Cameras to HD Spot Module

  1. Log in to the HD Spot Module Web Client
  2. Navigate to:
    Monitoring → Registration
  3. Select Manual Registration
  4. Set Protocol to RTSP
  5. Enter the following:
    • Channel assignment
    • RTSP Main Stream URL
    • RTSP Sub Stream URL
    • VMAX A1 login credentials
  6. Click Manual Add
  7. Click Save

 

At this point, the video should be displayed from the camera on the assigned channel of the DW-HDSPOTMOD. The manual addition of the camera from the VMAX A1 is now complete.

Note: The DW-HDSPOTMOD web client does not currently support a Live View function. Video verification must be performed through the connected display/output device.
