COX Customer Notice and Transfer of Service

Welcome COX Customers,

 

Thank you for your interest in Digital Watchdog.

 

The DW Spectrum camera recording licenses that have been activated on your DW Blackjack NVR are perpetual and do not expire. There is no need to “transfer service” regarding recording licenses or software updates. The DW Spectrum System will continue to record as normal.

 

Our experience indicates that these systems were being held at DW Spectrum version 4.2 or an earlier version. In today’s connected world, best business practices and cyber security defenses recommend that systems and software be kept up-to-date.

 

Software updates play a vital role in maintaining the stability and functionality of your DW Spectrum System. Before an official update is released, each version is put through extensive testing by developers to ensure the stability and improvement of the software.

 

Software updates often include bug fixes and security patches that developers use to shore up defenses against ever evolving threats and to address previously unknown vulnerabilities that might otherwise be exploited. Additionally, new features are applied that enhance system capabilities and user experience, and performance improvements are also often included to ensure smooth operation and compatibility with cameras, mobile devices, and DW Cloud connectivity solutions.

 

Software updates are included at no additional charge.

 

We recommend that you use a value-added service provider to perform these updates. If you do not have a local service provider, you can ask a DW representative for some local channel partners by CLICKING HERE to schedule a demo or consultation.

 

The current version of DW Spectrum can be found through our DW Cloud Web Portal.

 

Prior to updating your DW Spectrum System, here are some recommendations:

• Always perform a System/Database Backup.

• Upgrading DW Spectrum can be done easily through the DW Spectrum Client desktop program in the System Administration > Updates menu tab.

In some instances, it may be necessary to update/upgrade the DW Blackjack NVR’s base operating system or hardware. For such cases, we recommend that you Create an RMA Ticket Request and return the DW Blackjack product for factory service and maintenance.
