Application Compatibility

Digital Watchdog’s surveillance recording solutions can be viewed either locally or remotely using a variety of DW desktop, mobile, and browser software. These applications can connect with recorders either directly (using IP Addressing) or through DW Cloud services.

The viewing application that should be used depends on the model of the recording product. Before installing a viewing application to the connecting device (computer, phone, tablet, etc.), make sure that the recording unit will be compatible with the software.

Compatibility Table

Mobile software applications for both the Android systems and iOS (Apple) systems can be downloaded from either the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS) to your mobile device (phone or tablet).

Computer desktop applications can be downloaded from the Digital Watchdog Website.

**NOTE: Applications that were not created by Apple may not be recognized by Macintosh computers – additional system approval may be necessary.

Please read Installing Third Party Applications on Macintosh for additional instructions.

**NOTE: Be aware that even though an application may be compatible with a recorder model, there may only be limited feature support available.

VMAX A1 G4 (4K) – supported by DW Mobile Plus app (iOS & Android).
VMAX IP G4 (4K) – supported by DW Mobile Plus app (iOS & Android).

**NOTE: There is a possibility that Digital Watchdog’s Pathfinder service will transition into primarily using myDW Cloud Services for P2P connections. Pathfinder may be discontinued and stop working at that time.

DW Spectrum Server Compatibility

DW Spectrum Professional does not fully support all recorder models. Partially supported units are limited to video streaming only. The use of a Analog Recorder Professional License will be required to archive video on a DW Spectrum Server that is streaming from a standalone recorder (VMAX).

C3 CMS Software Compatibility

VMAX G4 (4K)
VMAX A1 G4 (4K)

**NOTE: Pathfinder (P2P) connections with the VMAX IP Plus or VMAX A1 Plus (5 MP) are limited to client functions only. C3Event Server functions will only work using an IP address or DDNS connection. Live Event notifications are available through P2P connection.

**NOTE: This software is compatible with x64-bit operating systems only; Windows 10 (x64) or MacOS 10.12 (Sierra) support only.
