Re: Adding JSON and DLL files to servers for DWC-PVX20WATW installation
DWC-PVX20WATW Pre-Configuration
-----------------------------------
Affected Model Numbers: DWC-PVX20WATW
Related Software: DW Spectrum v4.2

-----------------------------------
Pre-Configuration File Requirement for DW Spectrum v4.2
For system owners that are using a MEGApix DWC-PVX20WATW multi-sensor camera with a system still using DW Spectrum IPVMS Version 4.2, the application of a JSON file and DLL file to the DW Spectrum Server will be necessary to utilize one (1) recording licenses for the entire camera, rather than needing four (4) individual licenses for each lens sensor module.
The information below will outline the download locations and instructions for making these changes to the server. This process must be completed directly on the computer hardware that is hosting the DW Spectrum Server software application.
NOTE: It is understandable that there are some circumstances where upgrading to the most current version of DW Spectrum IPVMS may not be practical for all users, especially when using older or underpowered systems. Otherwise, it is typically recommended to use the most recent build to ensure that bugfixes, quality-of-life improvements and feature additions can be applied to the system. If you are unsure about upgrading the version of your system, you may consult with your DW Representative as needed.
Downloading the Files
Use the links below to obtain the JSON file and DLL file. These files will be compressed into a folder upon download and a compression software (Winzip, Winrar, etc.) is needed to unzip the folder.

Applying the Files to the Server
After downloading the JSON file and DLL file using the links above:
- If the DWC-PVX20WATW camera is already added to the DW Spectrum Server and appears within its Resource Tree (left-panel of the client), remove the camera from the DW Spectrum Server.
- Stop the media server application.
- For Windows – Right-click on the media server icon that appears in the Windows system tray and select “Stop Server (started)”.
-

- For Ubuntu Linux – In the Terminal application and as the root administrator, use the command:
service digitalwatchdog-mediaserver start
- Once the DW Spectrum Server application has finished restarting, you may re-add the DWC-PVX20WATW camera to the system and only one (1) recording license will be needed for the camera.
This completes the pre-configuration instructions for the DWC-PVX20WATW multi-sensor camera being used with DW Spectrum Server v4.2.
