Keri Systems Plugin Integration

DW partner, Keri Systems, uses a new video plug-and-play platform within their Doors.NET v5.0.0 release update. Camera management will be handled by the DW Spectrum software for this new Keri System platform.

This article will outline how to integrate the Keri Systems Doors.NET plugin to utilize DW Spectrum IPVMS as the video management source for viewing through the Keri Systems Doors.NET software.

**NOTE:  Edge (arm) devices such as CaaS cameras, DW Blackjack MINI, etc. will not support this function. Video recordings are not stored in the Doors.NET client and must be retrieved from the cameras’ recording server.

Setting Up Doors.NET Video Plugin for Integration with DW Spectrum IPVMS

When integrating with DW Spectrum IPVMS, the Doors.NET software must be installed on the server computer before the virtual cameras can be created in DW Spectrum.

Part 1:  Download Doors.NET Video Plugin Installer

To download and install the Keri Systems Doors.NET Video Plugin Installer:

  1. Open a web browser and visit https://www.kerisys.com.

Click on the “Member Log In” button and log in to your Keri Systems account.

  1. After logging in, click on the “Software Downloads” tile.

From the Download Area, select the “Doors.NET Video Plugin Installer”.

Allow the plugin installer to download to the computer.

Part 2:  Install Doors.NET Video Plugin

  1. Locate the Doors.NET video plugin installation file (.exe) in your Downloads file directory.

Right-click on the installation file and select “Run as Administrator” to launch the installation wizard.

  1. Click the “Next” button to proceed and accept the license agreement.
  2. Follow through the installation wizard and review the important information before completing the installation. Digital Watchdog was added as a supported camera vendor as of Doors.NET v5.0.0.

Part 3:  Create Virtual Cameras in DW Spectrum Client

To add a camera from a DW Spectrum Server to Doors.NET, you will need to know the name and unique identifier of each camera (as identified in DW Spectrum) that you wish to add to Doors.NET.

**IMPORTANT NOTE:  If the camera is already added to the DW Spectrum Server and the server can be detected/located by the Doors.NET software, proceed to Part 4 for the Doors.NET setup.

To add cameras in the DW Spectrum Client software:

  1. Launch DW Spectrum Client and log in as an administrator or as a user with equivalent user privileges.

  1. In the Resource Tree panel (located on the left-side of the client), right-click on the server that is hosting the cameras.

Select “Add Device”.

  1. The Add Devices window will display.

With the “Known Address tab selected, enter the camera’s URL into the Address box for the first camera.

The format for the camera URL is:

http://{Insert_IP_Address}:89/pushport{x}

**NOTE:  The “x” is representative of a unique number, ranging from 1~25 for each virtual camera. No two virtual cameras should have the same number assigned. For example, using push port#1 might look like “http://192.168.1.16:89/pushport1” or “http://127.0.0.1:89/pushport1”.

**NOTE:  For a virtual camera, use “http://127.0.0.1:89/pushport1” for the first camera.

When adding the camera to DW Spectrum, if the camera is being hosted by a proxy machine, use the IP address of the hosting Proxy machine instead of the camera.

Click the “Search” button to add the camera to the list of detected devices.

Repeat this step for any additional cameras, changing the pushport# value for each camera (ex. …pushport2, pushport3, etc.)

Click the “Add all Devices” button when finished to add all of the cameras to the Resource Tree.

**NOTE:  The pushport number is a unique number (1~25) for each virtual camera. No two virtual cameras can have the same number assigned.

  1. After adding the virtual cameras to the DW Spectrum Server, rename the cameras so that they are easier to identify through the Doors.NET software.

The camera names should be made to be unique to avoid any confusion with identifying the cameras. For example:

    • …pushport1 à “CTP Overview1"
    • …pushport2 à “CTP Overview2”
    • …pushport3 à “Procedure”

**NOTE:  Virtual cameras will show a “Waiting for input” message until there is data/images available to present.

  1. To set the recording settings for the camera, right-click on the virtual camera and select “Camera Settings”.

In the Recording tab, set the desired camera recording schedule. A DW Spectrum recording license is required for every camera that will be recording to the DW Spectrum Server.

Part 4:  Add an Individual Digital Watchdog Camera to Doors.NET

To add a camera from a DW Spectrum Server, the server’s URL/IP address must be known in addition to a permitted user profile on the server.  Additionally, you will need to know the name and unique identifier of each camera (as identified in DW Spectrum) that you wish to add to Doors.NET (see Part 3 above).

  1. Launch and login to the Doors.NET software client.
  2. Navigate from Setup > Hardware Setup > All
  3. Enable the “Advanced View” setting if you do not see the “Cameras” tier in the hardware tree.
  4. Select “Cameras”, then click on “Add Camera” in the ribbon bar.

  1. The Add Video Device pop-up will display.

From the drop-down menu for Video Device, select the “Digital Watchdog” option as the camera vendor.

Click the Add button to add the camera to the hardware tree.

  1. In the hardware tree, expand the “Cameras” category to display the new entry (New Camera).

Select “New Camera”.

  1. The camera properties will display on the right-hand side.

Enter a new name for the camera in the Description Field. Make sure to use the same name that was assigned to the camera in DW Spectrum.

  1. Locate the camera’s Configuration section and enter the camera’s URL or IP address.

  1. Next, select the “BasicAuthentication Type and enter the login for the camera in the “Username” and “Password” boxes to authenticate and connect to the camera.

**NOTE:  If the username or password fails to authenticate, try using the login to the DW Spectrum Server.

  1. Save the camera settings.
