DW Spot Monitoring Module 3rd Generation Update
As of October 2021, Digital Watchdog will begin rolling out new NDAA/TAA compliant hardware for the DW Spot Monitoring Module series. The new 3rd generation hardware will support up to a 4K resolution (Input/Output) and can be distinguished from the previous 1st and 2nd generation models by referencing the serial number, firmware filename, and physical appearance of the rear panel.
Please refer to the table below to identify the HD Spot Module generation.
Identifying a DW Spot Monitoring Module by S/N or Firmware
The generation DW Spot Module can be identified by either the serial number that is located on the exterior of the harder or by the filename used for the unit’s firmware file.

Identifying a DW Spot Monitoring Module by Hardware Appearance
The 3rd generation Spot Module includes physical changes to the rear panel of the device.
