The DW Blackjack® Mini (BJMINI) is a headless server with no display, making it remotely accessible through a network connection only. In circumstances where the DW Spectrum® password has been forgotten and you are unable to connect with the DW Blackjack® Mini, the options for resetting login credentials are limited.
This article will outline how to reset the DW Spectrum® IPVMS server password and how to submit a request to reset the password of the DW Blackjack® Mini if it is needed.
Note: The device login of the DW Blackjack® Mini is separate from the login credentials of the DW Spectrum® IPVMS platform. If the BJMINI is part of a merged DW Spectrum® system and you are actually just trying to change the Administrator/Owner Password of DW Spectrum® (and not reset it), use the DW Spectrum® Web Client to do so.
Note: The process for resetting the DW Spectrum® login requires that the media server is defaulted. As a result, you may need to reconfigure the server configuration. For instructions on configuration and setup, you may refer to the DW-BJMINIxT Quick Start Guide.
If you have forgotten the DW Spectrum® IPVMS login and require a password reset, the only option is to clean reinstall the software through the DW Blackjack® Mini’s web interface.
Before submitting a Password Reset Request to Digital Watchdog, attempt to log in to the DW Blackjack® Mini itself:
Consult with your network administrator if you do not have the IP information for the unit. You may also scan for the BJMINI using DW IP Finder™ from a Windows computer.
Select the option to Default the media server.
If you do not know the login for the DW Blackjack® Mini and the unit is no longer using its default login credentials (admin/admin1234), you will need to submit a Password Reset Request form so that you can default the BJMINI’s media server.
