RTSP – Real Time Streaming Protocol
The Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) uses TCP communication for an end-to-end connection between devices. An RTSP URL can be utilized to connect a device, such as a VMAX recording unit or a compressor, to a DW Spectrum Server if the device is unable to be added through an ONVIF protocol.
This article will provide the list of common RTSP URLs for Digital Watchdog’s various standalone units.
**NOTE: Some DW products do not support RTSP communication. For example, the VMAX A1 Plus model series is omitted from this document as it does not support the use of an RTSP stream.
