Missing “Show Cameras” Option in HSE Search

Issue Description

When the user selects “Show Cameras” while on the search page in the DW Spectrum Client, no video playback occurs.

 

Issue Solution

The cache in the DW Spectrum Server delays the “Show Cameras” option from viewing stored video for up to 2 minutes from when the live event occurs. In addition to allow the Server to process, you can check the following:

  • Check that you have enough WAVE camera licenses
  • Check that the camera (virtual camera or physical camera) is not set to record on motion. In the case of the virtual camera, they should always be set to record Continuously.
  • Check that the name of the camera in question is spelled correctly. It should match what is entered in the C2P “Directive Table” for the device.
  • Use the “Refresh Cameras” in the integration GUI after making changes to the playback camera names in WAVE.
  • Check that the Device ID names that are defined in the Device Event Directives Table in the integration GUI. The IP appliance names and actual Device ID names sent by the IP appliance must match.
    • Example: A device named the Device ID as “Lane1” in the directives table and the actual name is “Lane01”.
  • Look at the “View Log” provided in every integration GUI and compare the Device ID being received from the IP Appliance to the Device ID value in the GUI Device Event Directives table.
    • Alternatively, look in the HSE search page to find the Device ID and verify that the spelling and other details match.
  • Open the HSE console and refresh the Search window. With the console open on the bottom of the table select an event and see what the HSE console text is telling you.
