What is a Cloud Layout?
DW Cloud Layouts provide the ability to operate devices from other DW Spectrum Systems through a single client instance. Rather than needing to open separate DW Spectrum Client windows when viewing or merging systems, you can do instead so by using DW Cloud.
This article will outline how to create and save a DW Cloud Layout for viewing multiple devices from separate systems.
**NOTE: Cloud Layouts can only be shown using the DW Spectrum desktop client. DW Spectrum Mobile and Web Client connections will not show this information.
Creating a Cloud Layout
To create a Cloud Layout:
- Log into the DW Spectrum Client with your DW Cloud account (email/password).
- In the left-panel is the Resource Tree, where all devices and servers associated with the DW Spectrum System will appear.
Select “Other Systems”. All DW Spectrum Systems associated with your DW Cloud account will be listed.
- Double-click or select and drag the desired cameras from the Other Systems list into the viewing area.
- After selecting the desired cameras, right-click in the viewing area and select “Save Current Layout As…”. Name your new Cloud Layout and Save.
- The new Cloud Layout will then be represented in the Resource Tree under “Cloud Layouts”.
**NOTE: You can configure and save Cloud Layouts as needed; however, they cannot be shared with other system users. Cloud Layouts cannot be utilized for Video Wall, Showreels or Event Rules.
