Triton Sensors

DW’s integration partner, Triton, provides smart sensors that alerts for vaping, smoke, vandalism, emergency keyword detection (“help me”, “emergency”, etc.), noise anomalies, and more. Using the Triton Sync Portal, these sensors can be integrated with DW Spectrum Systems.

This article will outline how to integrate Triton sensors, through the Triton Sync Portal, with DW Spectrum including how to acquire the necessary DW Cloud System ID, creating an event rule, and how to retrieve the necessary Camera ID for each device.

Integration Setup

This integration will require you to access the following interfaces that are associated with your Triton sensor and DW Spectrum System:

  • DW Cloud Web Portal
  • DW Spectrum Client
  • DW Spectrum Server Web Page
  • Triton Sync Portal

 

Part 1: Collect DW Cloud System ID Information

To integrate a Triton server with a DW Spectrum Server:

  1. Obtain your DW Cloud System ID. To do so, open a web browser and visit https://dwspectrum.digital-watchdog.com/.
  2. Log in to your DW Cloud account and view the target DW Spectrum Server. Your DW Cloud System ID will display at the end of the URL string.

Copy the last portion of the URL, which represents the DW Cloud System ID.

 

  1. Open your Triton Server Sync Portal and select the “Integrations” tab.

Configure the following:

    • DW Cloud Username: enter the email address of the DW Cloud Owner account.
    • DW Cloud Password: enter the password of the DW Cloud Owner account.
    • DW Cloud System ID: enter/paste the DW Cloud System ID from Step 2.

 

  1. Click the “Log into DW” button and save the changes.

 

Part 2: Collect DW Spectrum Public IP Address and Port Information

Next, to obtain the DW Spectrum Server’s Public IP and Port number:

  1. Log into the DW Spectrum Client as the Owner or as an Administrator and right-click on the Server.

Select “Server Web Page”.

 

  1. In the Server Web Page, click the “Settings” tab.

Copy the “Port” number under the Settings section of the menu.

Select the server from the “Servers” list (in the left-panel) then click on “Detailed Info”.

 

  1. In the Detailed Info menu, locate and copy the “Public IP” of your server.

 

  1. Next, in your Triton Sync Portal, enter the Public IP Address and Port number of your DW Spectrum Server.

Click the Save button to save the changes.

 

Part 3: Collect Camera IDs

You must specify each Triton sensor device’s Camera ID (as assigned in DW Spectrum) for the integration with Triton Sync Portal.

To obtain each device’s Camera ID:

  1. In the DW Spectrum Client, right-click on the Triton Sensor device in the Resource Tree (left-panel) and select “Camera Settings”.
  2. Expand the device information by clicking on “More Info” and locate the “Camera ID”.

Copy the Camera ID from the Camera Settings menu in DW Spectrum.

 

  1. In the Triton Sync Portal, enter the Camera ID into the corresponding field for each sensor device.

Click the Save button to apply the changes.

 

Part 4: Create a DW Event Rule

Create a generic event rule in DW Spectrum to trigger an action when the Triton sensor is activated.

To create a DW Event Rule:

  1. Log into the DW Spectrum Client as the Owner or as an Administrator and open the System Administration (CTRL+ALT+A) menu then select the Event Rules menu.

 

  1. In the Event Rules menu, click the Add button and configure the following:
    • When: select “Generic Event”.
    • Caption contains: enter “vape”; for other trigger types from the Triton sensor, enter the type as described within the sensor’s interface (e.g. smoke, scream, keyword, etc.).
    • Action/Do: user’s choice; select the resulting action that will occur when the Triton sensor detects a vape.

Click the Apply button to save the event rule.
