DW Ai Appliance

The DW Blackjack Ai Slim (ASL), also referred to as an “Ai Appliance”, is a device separate from a DW Spectrum Server, designed to receive camera streams then apply DW Ai analytics, rules, object detection, etc. When deploying a DW Blackjack Ai Slim, there are some settings that may be helpful to apply to your setup.

This article will outline some of the recommended DW Blackjack Ai Slim configurations to check for when troubleshooting.

**NOTE: The DW Blackjack Ai Slim ONLY comes with the DW Spectrum Client and does not come with the DW Spectrum Server application pre-installed. All recording server-related tasks should be delegated to a separate machine/computer in tandem with the DW Blackjack Slim’s analytics.

Supported/Affected Devices:

  • DW Blackjack Ai Slim (DW-BJAiASL)

Network Configuration Recommendations

The following are some of the most common configurations to check for when using a DW Blackjack Ai Slim.

Adding the DW Blackjack Ai Slim to LAN

The DW Blackjack Ai Slim should be connected to the same local network as the DW Spectrum System. Connect the Ai Slim directly to the same network switch as the DW Spectrum Server and make sure that it is assigned an IP address that belongs to the same IP subnet.

Configuring the DW Spectrum Server

After connecting the DW Blackjack Ai Slim to the local network, you must add the Ai Slim to the DW Spectrum Server.

  1. Launch the DW Spectrum Client and log in to the DW Spectrum System as the Owner or as an Administrator.

If your machines are not on the same local network or otherwise do not automatically detect each other, manually enter the DW Spectrum Server’s connection information (IP address and network port).

  1. Once logged in, open the System Administration menu (CTRL+ALT+A) and select the Plugins tab.
  2. Select the DW Ai Server plugin and configure the following:
    • DW Ai Server 1 Address – enter the local IP address of the DW Blackjack Ai Slim device.
    • DW Ai Server Port – enter the local server port of the DW Blackjack Ai Slim device. Default is 3030.
  3. Click Apply to save the settings.

Adding the DW Spectrum Server to the Ai Server List

You will also need to add the DW Spectrum Server to the DW Blackjack Ai Slim’s interface to allow the two devices to communicate.

  1. On the DW Blackjack Ai Slim, launch the DW Ai Server Configuration Tool.
  2. Open the Main Menu and select “DW Ai Server List”, then click the Add button.
  3. In the pop-up window, enter the IP address and Port number (default 7001) of the DW Spectrum Server machine.

Click the OK button to save the settings and close the pop-up.

  1. The DW Spectrum Server will appear in the server list.

Click the Apply button to save the settings.
