Wasabi Surveillance Cloud
Wasabi Surveillance Cloud (WSC) is a paid product offering a form of cloud storage, enabled to integrate with the DW Spectrum Pro video management software, to store video data locally on the DW Spectrum Server and in the Wasabi cloud platform. This can potentially free up space in your Spectrum Media Server storage and archive data for disaster recovery.
This article will provide instructions for integrating the Wasabi Surveillance Cloud with a DW Spectrum Site.
NOTE: Wasabi Technologies is a separate entity that has partnered with Digital Watchdog to provide online, cloud storage options. This article includes web links to Wasabi Support documentation and resources to accommodate its users throughout the integration process.
Prerequisites
The following assets are necessary for this integration:
- DW Spectrum Professional Server
- Active Wasabi Surveillance Cloud account (Create a Wasabi Account)
- Wasabi Bucket (Creating a Bucket in Wasabi)
- Wasabi Access and Secret Key (Creating a Wasabi User Account and Access Key)

Configuring Wasabi Surveillance Cloud (WSC) for DW Spectrum
IMPORTANT: The following instructions are performed at the DW Spectrum Server hardware. You will need to install the WSC software on each server that belongs to the DW Spectrum Site.
-
Install the WSC software on the DW Spectrum Server machine. For instructions, you can refer to the Wasabi KB article, “Installing Wasabi Surveillance Cloud”.
Select “Digital Watchdog – Spectrum” as the VMS Profile.
- Launch and log in to the WSC software. The same login credentials can be used across all servers.
- Add a source and target, then configure the following:
- Source Path – Select the same drive/folder used by DW Spectrum. If more than one volume has been configured for DW Spectrum, add each folder (source) separately. Do not add subfolders whose parent folder has been added as a source.
- Targets – Select “Wasabi” to autofill the Access and Secret keys. Otherwise, you can manually enter key information.
NOTE: For guidance on pairing DW Spectrum with a Target, you can refer to the Wasabi KB article, “Pairing a VMS with a Target”.
- To confirm that data is being written to the bucket with the same directory structure as the source folder, log in to the Wasabi Console to verify.
