DW Spectrum Event Rules
The DWC-INTCAM02 Intercom Door Station camera provides the means to monitor your entryway in a single solution. When deployed, users can combine this device with DW Spectrum IPVMS to notify users when the doorbell is pressed or to remotely unlock a door through their DW Spectrum Client or DW Spectrum Mobile app.
This article will outline how to create the event rules in DW Spectrum to enable these features for the door station.

Creating Event Rules
Push Button Alarm Notification Setup
To configure an Event Rule that will trigger an action when the door station’s button is pressed:

Using the DW Spectrum Client, open the Event Rules menu.
- Open the Main Menu and select the System Administration menu.
- Select the Event Rules menu.

Click the +Add button to create a new rule and configure the following:

Event
- When: set as “Input Signal on Camera” (Starts).
- At: select the door station camera, “DWC-INTCAM02”.
- Input ID: set as “2”. Camera ID: 1 is for alarm input and ID: 2 is for the push button.

Action
- Do: set the action to trigger the desired action. For example, “Show desktop notification”.
- Interval of Action: [optional] set to “Instant”.
- To: select the recipients of the action.

Event
- Click the Apply button to save and apply the Event Rule.
Door Lock Release Setup
Installers have the option of connecting the Door Station camera’s terminal block to an electronic lock relay, so that users can remotely control the lock.
To remotely unlock the door of the door station using a soft trigger:

Using the DW Spectrum Client, open the Event Rules menu.
- Open the Main Menu and select the System Administration menu.
- Select the Event Rules menu.

Click the +Add button to create a new rule and configure the following:

Event
- When: set as “Soft Trigger”.
- At: select the door station camera, “DWC-INTCAM02”.
- Available to: select the users that will have permission to remotely unlock the door through DW Spectrum.
- Name: enter a simple label for the rule such as “Door Open”.
- Icon: select an icon that will appear on the soft-trigger button.

- Do: select “HTTP(S) Request”.
- Interval of Action: [optional] set to “Instant”.
- HTTP(S) URL: enter the following command, replacing “
” with the IP Address of the Door Station.

- Login: Enter the Administrator’s login (e.g., admin) for the camera.
- Password: Enter the Administrator’s password for the camera.

- Click the Apply button to save and apply the Event Rule. When viewing the Door Station camera, permitted users can click the soft-trigger button to unlock the door.

You will then need to log into the camera’s web GUI and adjust the door lock settings to your preferences.
a. From the DW Spectrum Client’s viewing dashboard, right-click on the DWC-INTCAM02 and select “Camera Settings” and select the “Web” tab.
b. In the Camera Settings menu, select the “Web Client” tab.
c. In the camera’s web GUI, open the Setup menu then navigate to the Access Control > Door Lock menu. Configure the following settings:
- Unlocking Delay Time: set the amount of time that will be delayed after unlocking the door. For example, if the delay time is set to two (2) seconds, the door will be unlocked two seconds after the soft trigger is pushed.
- Unlocking Duration: set the amount of time (0 ~ 10 sec) that the door will remain unlocked.
- Lock Type: set to “Auto”. When set to “Auto”, the Site will automatically open the door according to the defined locking conditions.
- [Optional] If necessary, you can adjust the contact input settings by navigating to Access Control > Door Contact Setting and configuring the following settings:
- Door Contact Input Type: NO = “normally open”, NC = “normally closed”.
- Unlocking Delay Time: set the allowable unlocking time. For example, if set to “NC” and 10 seconds, alarms will be triggered if the door is not closed after 10 seconds.
- Alarm Delay Time: set the alarm delay time (0~999) when the door contact faults are detected. For example, if set to three (3) seconds, alarms will trigger three (3) seconds after detecting failure of the door contact.
- Trigger Audio Alarm: if enabled, the camera will trigger the audio alarm when the above parameters are met.
- Trigger SD Card Snapshot: if enabled, the camera will save a snapshot to its local SD card. An SD card is required for this feature.
- Trigger SD Card Recording: if enabled, the camera will save a video clip when the above parameters are met. An SD card is required for this feature.
- Trigger Email: if enabled, the camera will send an email notification when the above parameters are met.
- Trigger FTP: if enabled, the camera will save a video clip to an FTP server when the above parameters are met. FTP server settings must be configured within the camera settings.
