- Video Loss
- Motion Alarm
- S.M.A.R.T.

Part 1: Enable Push Notifications in the Mobile Application
For the best user experience, DW Mobile Plus is the recommended mobile application for VMAX IP Plus systems. The legacy VMAX IP Plus mobile app may still support push notification setup, but DW Mobile Plus provides the latest features and ongoing compatibility improvements.
DW Mobile Plus App Setup
To enable push notifications:
- Open the DW Mobile Plus application.
- Connect to the VMAX IP Plus recorder.
- From the Live View screen, select the More Options (⋮) menu.
- Select Push Notification.
- Enable the Push Notification toggle.
VMAX Plus Mobile App Setup
- Download and install the VMAX Plus mobile application from your mobile device’s application store.
- Launch the VMAX Plus mobile application, then select your site and establish a Live connection with the NVR.
In the app, locate the Push Notification or Push Set toggle settings (below the viewing channels) and configure the following:
- Push Notification | Push Set – enable this setting to allow the mobile app to receive push notifications from the NVR. The slider will be highlighted in orange to indicate that the setting is enabled.
- Use Push | Use Push Check – click in the checkbox to enable this setting and use push notification. An orange checkmark indicates that the setting is enabled.
- Set – click this button to apply the changes.
Part 2: Configure MEGApix Camera Setup
Any analytics rule must first be configured on the camera before it can trigger mobile notifications through the VMAX IP Plus.
- MEGApix MT/MB/MV 94 Series – received as ‘sensor’ data.
- MEGApix MT/MB/MV 95 Series – received as ‘sensor’ data.
- MEGApix IVA/IVA+ Series – received as “Meta Data”.
You may access the camera's web interface by utilizing Virtual Web Ports, which allow users to connect to the cameras through the NVR without the need to physically connect a computer to the onboard PoE switch of the VMAX IP Plus.

After connecting with the camera through the virtual web port, you will be met with a login screen for the camera.
Please be advised that the NVR system assigns a unique password to cameras when they are initially connected directly to the NVR's PoE switch, utilizing the NVR's MAC address as the password. Please refer to the example below.
If the cameras are connected through an external switch, you may use either the default camera password or the updated password if it has been modified.
Log in with the following information:
- Username: admin
- Password: !A_NVRs MAC (please enter in all lowercase and without colons)
Part 3: VMAX IP Plus Setup
This next section must be performed at the VMAX IP Plus recording unit.
- Log in to the unit as “admin”.
Once logged in, right-click with the mouse and navigate to:
Menu > Network > Mobile Notify
- Enable "USE MOBILE NOTIFY"
- The Mobile Notify menu will display the IP address of the VMAX IP Plus and the unique Device IDs of connected mobile devices that have enabled the Push Notification settings within the VMAX Plus mobile application.
- Event – Please select from the list. (For MT/MB/MV types such as line intrusion, please select sensor)
- Interval – set a limit for how frequently remote notifications are allowed to be sent.
Click Save to apply the settings.
- Next, please configure the recording schedule.
Menu > Record > Recording Schedule
For events utilizing sensors, please ensure that the recording schedule is configured with the sensor. For example, you may set the camera to record on Continuous plus sensor (CONT+SENS) or Motion plus sensor (MOT+SENS).
Save the settings once the Recording Schedule is done.
- **Critical: If you are using an IVA/IVA+ camera as the analytic sensor, you will need to create an IVA Event Alarm that has the Notify setting enabled using the NVR’s Alarm Manager settings. For more information, refer to the article “VMAX IP Plus – Creating IVA Event Alarms”.
Part 4: Searching for Sensor Event Playback
To search for video recorded during the Sensor Event:
- From the main screen of the NVR, right-click on the camera and select “Special Cam Search” from the context menu.
-
Select the event type most relevant to your camera:
- Video Analytics – select if you are using a non-IVA camera. Select “Line Crossing” to search the event log.
- IVA Event – select if you are using an IVA/IVA+ camera. Select the Event type from the dropdown of the analytic sensor event, such as Line Crossing, Perimeter Intrusion, etc.
- Push notifications received through the VMAX Plus mobile application will appear when the sensor event triggers. To view playback in the mobile app, select the event from the Push Notification list and tap “Go to VOD”.
